Club Committee Duties
Club Meetings: Schedule and introduce programs, set up meeting room and welcome guests.
Membership growth & Education: Conduct membership projects to increase numbers, make sure new members receive proper orientation and assure officers receive training.
Youth Projects: Plan and organize projects that will benefit young people ages 5 and above - in our community and beyond. Local examples: Student of the Month & senior class dinner.
Sponsored Programs: Organize and work with K-Kids (elementary), Builders (middle school), Key Club (high school) and Circle K (college) clubs that are or would be sponsored by our club.
Young Children: Priority One: Plan projects for the club to do that fall into the YCPO category - projects aimed at helping young children from pre-natal through age 5.
Community Service: Study community needs and plan projects for the club that fall into the category of service to our community.
Human and Spiritual Values: Arrange for members to give the invocation at meetings and organize and carry out spiritual values projects.
Interclubs: Plan and schedule visits to other Kiwanis clubs and notify the club prior to the visit.
New Projects: Plan projects for the club that we are not yet doing. This committee should do a community needs analysis (city, schools, etc.) at least every 3 years.
Highway Cleanup: Organize and carry out the semi-annual highway cleanup project for our club's stretch of the highway west of town.
Old Settlers Food Stand: Organize and carry out all tasks needed to complete this major fund raiser - with the help of all members.
Family Picnic: Organize and carry out the annual June Kiwanis family picnic.
Senior Class Dinner: Schedule, organize and carry out the dinner for the graduating class in May.
Senior Citizens Dinner: Plan and carry out the dinner for our Senior Citizens every December.
Mowing: Set up a mowing schedule to complete this fund-raising project.
Public Relations / Newsletter: Plan and carry out public relations for our club through the news media and our own club newsletter.
Calling: Call members to determine attendance and for other reasons as needed.
Pancake Breakfast: Organize and carry out the pancake breakfast fund-raiser.
Finance: Prepare a budget, keep proper financial records, audit the records and give a complete reporting of income and expenditures for the previous month and year-to-date at each board meeting.
Kiwanis projects need to aim at service to children,
youth and our community
